Rep. Cleveland had in his office at the NCGA this magazine that had a cover picture of a Latino male holding a gun towards the camera (fine focus and all) and the headline is like, “mexico’s worst assassins.” And I’m just like, okay here’s this office of this racist, xenophobic, anti-immigrant, white, old, rich, privileged man trying to “be a good citizen” by “informing” his constituents about “current events” and using scare tactics that perpetuate Latin@s (using an exclusive ethnic group) as horrible criminals while most of them are working underpaid jobs, working jobs that aren’t even paid, don’t have access to public benefits even while paying taxes and contributing to the economy in alternative methods. What the actual fuck?
